Anna Sun is the founder of Hyper Real Academy, with over two decades of experience in medical tattooing. Since 2020, Hyper Real Academy has worked with thousands of clients and hundreds of cosmetic tattoo trainees, creating jobs for many members in our community.
The secret to Anna’s success is in her dedication to her craft, and to each and every person who looks to her as their PMU expert. We are honored to share the story of how she created success for not only herself, but everyone around her.
Before PMU
Anna is a first generation immigrant, previously a renowned maxillofacial surgeon in China. Though she had admittedly wanted to work in education and not in medicine, she made no protest to the wishes of her parents. Anna excelled in medical school, quickly became a doctor, and then a surgeon.
Her first career is a testament to her unshakable work ethic, as well as her dedication to every person in her care. Her surgical expertise lies in restorative cosmetic procedures for the jaw, mouth, teeth, face, neck, and gums.
After providing life-altering care for countless patients in China, Anna made the decision to apply for immigration to the United States. Unfortunately, her surgical license could not follow her in her journey.
Following her new life in the USA, Anna decided to earn a masters degree in computer science. She soon realized that her passion was not in tech, but in health, wellness, and beauty. Her real dream, her true life’s mission, is still the same; she wants to better the lives of the people in her community.
What she had always loved the most about being a surgeon was to see each person face to face, hear each person’s unique story, and leverage every ounce of her collected expertise so that each patient can leave her practice better than ever before.
Origins
Anna’s following paths are indicative of her lifelong dedication to enriching the lives of others. She trained alongside top estheticians in New York City and New Jersey, including acclaimed estheticians of Caudalie, Dr. Murad, Dermalogica, and Shiseido. She started her first beauty and wellness establishment in 2009, soon building more locations while mentoring dozens of prospective spa owners in New Jersey up until 2019. All of her owned and affiliated beauty establishments are still operating to this day.
In 2020, Anna founded Hyper Real Academy in East Brunswick, New Jersey. By this time, Anna had accumulated over two decades of experience in cosmetic tattooing from her training under PMU experts and working in her own beauty spas. Anna has seen microblading in its infancy and utilized the skill until it is eventually replaced with specialized tattoo machines.
Anna leveraged her network in the medical field to learn from some of the best cosmetic experts in the world. She returned to China to refine both cosmetic and medical tattooing skills with the guidance of the top Chinese celebrity plastic surgeons. She discovered the newest and most innovative inventions that were breaking new ground in the cosmetic tattooing industry. She couldn’t believe that a lip blush procedure that took 4 hours at the time could be done in less than 30 minutes, or that a single machine could utilize multiple motors so that the needles can move independently from one another. It was at this point in 2020 that she created RealTint® technology.
Hyper Real Academy is the culmination of Anna’s passion for teaching and her experience in both medical and cosmetic institutions. Her mission is to share her knowledge with people from all walks of life so that they may create jobs, build careers, and achieve financial success.
