Nano Brows is the current industry standard for hairstroke eyebrow PMU. This tattooing technique is used to create ultra fine lines that will blend with, simulate, and replicate real eyebrow hairs. The result is a realistic eyebrow pattern that will blend seamlessly with the client’s natural eyebrows, or restore the eyebrows for clients with no eyebrows. This program includes one (1) guided model procedure.

Hyper Real Academy was founded by Anna Sun, a former master surgeon and cosmetic tattoo artist with more than 28 years of experience in the tattoo industry.
Anna is the creator of RealTint®, an innovative line of permanent makeup machines, pigments, and accessories developed to elevate modern PMU artistry.
What makes Anna truly exceptional as an instructor is the rare combination of deep technical expertise and future-forward vision. Her foundation is built on decades of experience, discipline, and surgical level precision, while her approach to PMU remains focused on innovation, evolving technology, and the real future of the industry. Kelly
Kelly Bu is a PMU instructor with six years of industry experience and a background in professional editorial makeup artistry, with work featured in major magazines. Her command of both male and female makeup techniques made her a sought after artist for fashion, television, and film throughout her makeup career.
Her foundation in makeup artistry is a defining part of her success in permanent makeup, giving her the eye, restraint, and design sensibility that elevate a good tattoo artist into a true PMU master. Through her connections across the beauty industry, she has built partnerships with prestige brands that give PMU trainees greater access to professional products at better prices than ever before.

KahMung Chua (CK) has 6 years of PMU experience. She has been with us at Hyper Real Academy® since 2021. She mastered her craft under the guidance of Anna, and is now ready to mentor the next generation of PMU talent.

FAQ's
Can I get a headshot in addition to my professional model photos?
Yes! This is one of our most common requests. Since we already provide professional photography for our students’ portfolios, we are now offering content creation for our students who wish to be photographed during their model sessions. Students who wish to have their photos taken must sign a photo release.
Will I tattoo a real person during this program?
Yes, but you will not be alone! Your instructor will supervise your procedure and step in to correct improper form.
Do I need to take a test before I can work with a model?
You are required to submit your silicone sheet to your instructor to demonstrate machine proficiency. If you are not eligible to move forward, don’t worry. We will work with you to correct your machine technique and you will be asked to submit another silicone sheet.
What if I can’t find a model?
Please give us a 2 week notice so that we can find a model for you. There is no cost to you, but we cannot guarantee a model per student. In the event that there are not enough models available, two students will share a model.
My model already has PMU, can they still participate?
It depends on the shape and whether the tattoo is light enough to work on. We determine eligibility on a case-by-case basis. Please send us a photo of the tattoo at least 2 weeks before the first day of your program.
What are Nano Brows?
Nano Brows is a fine line tattoo technique that simulates the appearance of eyebrow hair strokes.
Will I learn microblading in this program?
No. Nano Brows is a machine technique that cannot be replicated by microblading using a hand tool. Learn more about the difference between Nano Brows and Microblading here: [blog]
Will I learn powder shading techniques in this program?
No. This program is dedicated exclusively to Nano Brows. Many students choose to learn both Powder Brows and Nano Brows for versatility. If you would like to learn Powder Brows as well, we are happy to create an extended program for you with discounted pricing.
What techniques are included in this program?
Our Nano Brows program is unique because it includes two fine line techniques! You will learn how to create solid lines and wispy lines. Learn more here [fine line brows video]
What machine will I use in this program?
You will receive the newest RealTint® machine that is designed for Nano Brows. Your machine will have the auto-pointillism function. Learn more here [machine shading video]
Can I work with male and nonbinary clients after this program?
Yes! Our Nano Brows patterns can be adjusted to suit male, female, and non-binary aesthetic goals. If you wish to master the art of masculine brows, we suggest signing up for the 1-Day intensive Nano Brows for Men program. This program is designed to teach you the principles of masculinizing the face by shaping the eyebrows. This is an advanced program for students with PMU experience, so it is best to take this program after your Nano Brows program. Our masculine brow patterns can be adjusted to unisex and are ideal for male, female, transgender, and non-binary clients.
