Aftercare for a permanent makeup procedure is crucial to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results.
Here are the steps your RealTint® PMU artist wants you to follow for the best results:
Keep the procedure area clean
You should avoid using any harsh chemicals, soaps, or makeup on the area for at least a week after the procedure. Use a gentle, non-alcoholic cleanser or micellar water and clean, disposable cotton swabs or pads to gently cleanse the area as per the instructions provided.

Use the RealTint® Micropigmentation Recovery Serum
Apply the recovery serum to the treated area to promote healing and prevent infection. Apply the serum in the morning and at night. Avoid using any other products on the treated area unless specifically recommended by your artist.
Avoid sun exposure
Sun exposure can cause fading and discoloration of permanent makeup. It is important to avoid direct sunlight on the treated area for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. If you need to be outdoors, wear a wide-brimmed hat or use a sunblock specifically formulated for tattoos to protect the area from UV rays.
Avoid swimming and excessive moisture
Avoid swimming, saunas, hot tubs, and other activities that may cause excessive moisture or soaking of the treated area for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. Excessive moisture can cause the pigment to blur or fade prematurely.
Avoid picking or scratching
Itching and flaking are normal during the healing process, but it is important to avoid picking or scratching at the treated area, as it can cause scarring and pigment loss. Keep the area moisturized to reduce itching and flaking.
Avoid makeup and other facial treatments
Avoid applying makeup or undergoing other facial treatments, such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion, on the treated area for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. These treatments can interfere with the healing process and affect the color and longevity of the permanent makeup.
Follow-up appointments
It is recommended to schedule your appointment at 4-6 weeks to assess the healing progress and make any necessary touch-ups. The touch-up appointment is recommended for eyebrows to ensure optimal results.
RealTint® Eyeliner and RealTint® Lip Blush procedures do NOT require a touch-up appointment.
Be patient
Permanent makeup takes time to fully heal and for the true color to settle. It is normal for the treated area to appear darker or brighter immediately after the procedure and then fade slightly during the healing process. It may take several weeks for the final results to become apparent.
It is essential to carefully follow the aftercare instructions provided by your permanent makeup artist to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results. If you have any concerns or questions during the healing process, always consult with your permanent makeup artist or a healthcare professional for guidance.
